Newsletter format or not, I personally enjoy your straight up flame-throwing at times, then going back to covering what you do enjoy: Running. You can't help yourself - running has been your life and you'll keep covering it. I like it, and i'm not that unique, I bet many others do too. That you'll *attempt* to keep others honest is a great thing, and also very entertaining. Keep it up, whatever the format!
