Ellie’s tweets showed up in my feed just yesterday, and the first thing to stand out was the incongruence of her personal statement “curious; not judgmental” and her antagonistic, condemnatory style of tweeting. “Old white men” needing to shut the F up. It’s just gross. One can always hide behind the claim of social justice these days. Have a different (more rational) assessment? Oh, well you obviously haven’t taken Sociology 101. Shame! The self-righteous anger is a bad look and one which prevents curiosity and growth. One can have compassion for someone while not giving into their every demand.
Everyone thinks the bully is someone else, but when you swat at someone or a group of people with snide little comments, you don't get to play the victim when there's a reaction.
I don’t have twitter, but did she out Gwen Jorgensen for ordering an alcoholic drink at a restaurant while pregnant????? That seems like a pretty shitty invasion of her privacy.
Or does she mean Skratch the endurance drink company…but if so why would it matter if a pregnant athlete is still training and using the product?
