King is obviously a genius; I'll add Summers to my reading list. I have read the first Reacher book - I thought it was decent but not exceptional. My husband (who also read it) and I are now in the middle of the television depiction, and we don't agree that it's quite faithful to the book. In particular, maybe three episodes in, TV Reacher seems like he has Asperger's, an impression I didn't get from reading the book. He seemed much more normal to me in the book. I admit it's been a little while since I read it.
Out here in Seattle, we still have a mask mandate for another 10 days. Since I don't get out that much, it's not that big of a deal for me, though I find it annoying. But more troubling is that many local school districts are choosing to retain mask mandates longer. Seattle Public Schools for example says they will reassess case levels after spring break, which is the 2nd or 3rd week of April. My kids' school still has an OUTDOOR mask mandate. They spend 7 hours a day in masks, more if my older daughter has dance, where masks are also required. It's infuriating.
