I wonder why Hiltz desn't compete in the men's division when "they" claim "they" wake up some days feeling like a dude and why everyone who's demanding inclusion over fairness in women's sport doesn't encourage "them" to do so. What a mystery.

I don't mind if someone prefers using a different pronoun, but I wish "they" would choose one that's at least gramatically correct, and it's silly to expect others to consistently use it. I'm glad people I know and care about don't get upset when others occasionally slip up and use the "wrong" pronoun.

Shit, someone called me a boy in high school, and I didn't throw a fit. It happened before the start of a race. It was cold, and I was bundled up in a hoodie. I was also a stick back then. No biggie. The lady didn't apologize, and I didn't need her to. It was a simple mistake. On a side note, I won the women's race.

I feel bad for anyone trying to make a living either running or covering running these days. It's such a mess. If you say one wrong thing that goes against the extreme left, there's a risk of being canceled. Worse, if you don't actively support people like Desir, Hiltz, Wade, Chavez, etc., the risk is still there. Between the dopers and the individuals determined to wreck women's running, it's hard to like anything about the sport anymore, but it is nice to see an occasional feel-good story like your nephew's progress. Congrats to Hayden!
