To be fair, Thunberg didn't assert humanity would be wiped out in 5 years but that if we didn't change things within 5 years, we'd be beyond a tipping point which would eventually wipe out humanity.
One sad thing about the internet and the ever increasing age of motherhood is it has empowered autistic weirdos who have undue influence on all sides of the political spectrum in promoting rigid systematizing, black/white thinking, reasoning by outrage, etc. Anarcho-crypto libertarians and red pill extremists are the right wing version of Thunberg.
