I'm assuming people were more interested in Obama working on getting the ACA through when he had a brief window to do so, without the filibuster. He focused on that and the economic stimulus in the middle of the banking crisis. Sure, he lied or really changed course, but sometimes circumstances should be considered. It's disappointing and sucks that he let the issue drop and changed course, but, at the time, it made sense why he did it. Hindsight, of course...
