I hadn't wanted to have kids, but from the moment our first one was born I haven't had a single moment of regret. I don't remember feeling that "we all become identical worrying machines" but maybe that's because they are grown up now (35 and 30 years old). Maybe because i didn't project worry they didn't ever give me much reason to worry. Even their teenage years were easy (maybe with the small exception of the incident that involved a fire truck and half the local police force :-) ).
