Great job by Brand on Friday night. I've been watching his show on Rumble so I'm familiar with his views and his schtick and I personally enjoy it, but you have to get used to it if you're not familiar with him. He's really smart and knows his shit, but to those only familiar with his old comedy/movie/addict days, I think they're dismissive of him. He nails the problems though, but the people who still like MSNBC and CNN and call themselves democrats, and those that watch Fox and call themselves republicans, are going to have a hard time grasping his arguments. Russell has broken out of the system and he's trying to enlighten others, but it's hard. Regarding MSNBC's ownership, you're right that they're owned by Comcast, but Comcast is not owned in any way by General Electric. Comcast bought NBCUniversal (which owns MSNBC) from GE in 2011, and no longer has anything to do with GE, at least ownership wise. Poor GE never really recovered from the Great Financial Crisis. They have since broken up into three companies, a mere shell of their former selves.

Brand's style definitely hurts him. People can take someone dressing like a wizard, or a propensity to literally touch his guests, or cultivating a manic style. But usually one or two traits at a time. And his accent makes it easier for Americans to view him as self-parodic, a la a Monty Python character.

I got the part about GE from the Brand video in the footnotes, meaning I either misheard him or he botched it. That's almost a trivial element of MSNBC's functioning, since it routinely hosts defense-industry magnates who don't bother disclosing their conflicts of interest when yammering about the need to send weapons they make to Ukraine. They're disgusting.
