I'm late commenting on this post, but I've been thinking about it a lot lately. What surprises me is how the same people who are adamant that nobody ever comment on looks or bodies, especially women's bodies, seem not just fine with Latoya commenting on (degrading) other people's looks but actively encourage her doing so by liking that kind of content. Imagine if someone made a reference to her looks by bringing up a doll that reinforced unflattering stereotypes. People would go nuts, but when she does the same thing, it's celebrated. What kind of shoe company is OK with anyone saying cracker this and Quaker Oats ass that when referencing anyone? That's flat out fucked up.
lol, dropped at 5K. Imagine, showing up to Boston and not even making it out of Hopkinton. How is it possible that more haven't seen through her fraud. Pretty infuriating.

I was with you right up until "the comical paralysis white liberal Americans experience". As a white liberal American who just returned from running the London Marathon (trained hard and raised money for a charity), I was appalled when Derek wrote about her. She got zero credit from me for being overweight, black, and female! I have several friends who are Athenas and Clydesdales and who make the sport of triathlon proud with their training and racing. And ya know what? I have no idea what their politics are. Not sure why you thought it appropriate to attack us "white liberal American(s)" but it seems almost as unnecessary as Snell's lies and sponsorships. I think you'll find there are a lot of us white liberal Americans out here who are just as disgusted (maybe even more?) by people who lie. And as someone who earned a spot in the Boston Marathon 10 years ago, I'm utterly confounded as to why BAA would allow her to run!
Looks like me back in my prime after eating a steady diet of cheeseburgers and hamburgers with the cheese. She's about as ready to run a marathon as Rosie Ruiz. BTW: Where are the emotes on this thing? ;)
