This was a 'My Hero' article. You kicked that can all over the place. Every word you stated is exactly how/what has happened. My husband is a VA patient and I don't dare let him go to any of his doctors apmts alone. No telling what all they would have him on if I didn't stop their conversation, and point blank ask why & how they want this or that done, or given. They do not like it at all. Most times patients are rule followers and 'the dr. knows best' type.
The root of all evil is greed. It has turned into a disastrous mess. What a shame because America used to have these old time doctors who had good common sense and would tell their patients how they might change a habit for better health. But not just take the low road of "give them a pill for that".

ps. I do not take any meds & only go to doctors when absolutely have to. Haven't been for at least 10 yr.s.
