Mr Beck, the race was ruined for US/NA viewers by the incredibly inept, amateurish and stupid coverage by NBC. A conservative breakdown is as follows:

Wheelchair coverage = 50%

Tourists + pregnant women + declarations of undying love = 20%

Inane woke fluff = 12%

Token coverage of the actual race = 3%

Remaining time = Ads

The only bright spot in this entire debacle was Diego Estrada, who delivered the goods. Pace, times, history and live race developments in 2 x 35s segments he was allotted. Oh, the race clock disappeared from the screen 2k before the finish. Even the lazy commentators seemed frustrated by the egregious omission.

Thankfully, I found a KenyaTV stream to watch. Here's a nugget from the KenyaTV stream:

Commentator: Coach, Kenya went 1,4,5 (if I remember correctly). What happened?

I found Chepngetich so inspirational today - the raw courage and recklessness it took to run the way she did, just throwing caution to the wind. It reminded me of Kipchoge in that she truly must not believe in human limits to have gone out like that. The coverage for both the men's and women's races may have been the worst I have ever seen. (I watched the local Chicago NBC coverage.) I think it's unfortunate the Chepngetich's crazy incredible run didn't get the attention it deserved. Also would have been nice to see Sisson's run. Somehow the Tour de France manages to get cameras on more than one cyclist. Not sure why this is completely beyond possibility for marathons. However, I am grateful that cities like Chicago are willing to close their streets for an event like this. Seattle, where I live, limits its marathon to trails and HOV lanes on Thanksgiving weekend when the weather is typically brutal.
