At one stage 40+ years ago I was working hard at trying to become an alcoholic. Being conscripted into the military (in my country of birth) didn't help. But I was fortunate that I didn't cross some unmarked threshold and since then have been able to drink without going beyond just one or two. Haven't a drink since some time in January though. I don't know the date because it was not a deliberate attempt to cut alcohol out completely.
1 year, 4 mos. - almost 4.5 yrs behind you. Let's keep it that way. It helps reading these posts on occasion.
Stay the course. This is honest and touching.
BTW: What a phrase-"earnest nonsense".
This fucking world seems to be choking on it....
Good job! Keep it up!
What a sweet picture.
Nice read. Between running, riding, a decent job and great family and a couple cool cats I manage to keep my nose above the water. I enjoy your posts.

Bravo Kevin. As someone working (hard? Hardly working?) to find sobriety, this post resonates. Keep on keeping on.
