Desir has run some marathons but she's not a pro. I think if she was even a B standard woman (2:37 or faster) more in the running world would respect her.

One of the things I find so sad about this whole thing is that it serves as a reminder that eventually grifters will try to ruin everything I love and taint it with bad faith accusations. On the plus side, I think the vast majority of runners and Boston enthusiasts have no idea who Alison Desir is, nor are they aware of the accusations about the whole mile 21 fiasco. But that’s not the same as saying that her ideas don’t take root in a certain echelon of the running world. End of the day, I just try to engage in my hobbies and interests and ignore lunatics. Let me know when Desir qualifies and actually runs Boston. Then maybe her opinion on the race will have some currency.
