Another nice list. I guess your readers would know that by competitive running, you mean competitive long-distance running, not the sprint events. A couple of other events that come to mind are the Coe-Ovett rivalry/races and the Komen/Gebrselassie rivalry/records. As far as capturing the imagination of fans, I think those rivalries are hard to top. Also, I'm not sure what race would represent him the best, but the list seems a bit empty without Kenenisa Bekele's name. I look forward to hearing your reasons for choosing those items.
