I think featuring Mulvaney in the Nike ad caused as much of a stir as the Bud Light spot, but because many women who complained about the ad or the company being shitty in general still want to wear shoes and apparel with a swoosh while other women support transgender women in all female spaces or support them no matter what (Family Guy pops into my head as I write this), there wasn’t any problem with the company’s profits. I honestly don’t know what it would take for people to seriously boycott Nike, but promoting what looks like pro-ana content and images of a male-bodied individual prancing around and mocking women in Nike clothing isn’t it.

I don't get why we can't protect so-called "gender expression" (although I think this formulation lends way to much to assuming group averages are the "right" way to do a sex) but not for gender identity. Exactly the way we reckon rights for Baptists, tongue-talkers, snake handlers, and other assorted Jesus lickers. Rights for believers, right to believe, but not the right to legislate on those beliefs for others or make them believe along with you.

I bet liberals who secretly don't agree with the trans mania (and don't dare let their true feelings be known) boycotted BL too. It's easier to simply not buy a product (or unload stock) than to reveal that you're a thought criminal to friends and associates. Or change your voter registration and party allegiance.

Not least among the reasons why transmania is so fucking insane is that it makes right wing idiots who shoot guns at cans look somewhat less fucking idiotic than they actually are. Do you really think trans people should be barred from owning guns? If disparate murder/mayhem data should prevent anyone from owning guns, it would be men broadly and my guess is transwomen, on this and every other strongly sexed bell curve, have means and STDVs pretty much like other men. I have no idea how we got to this idiotic point. Once when I was teaching public school, I once watched a fight nearly unfold in front of me until a girl with hidden diplomatic skills stepped between the combatants as they engaged in escalatory bickering and defused the situation with the simple phrase "Both y'all dumb!" I think we need a political party called "Both y'all dumb!".
