I've been following professional women's running since the late 90s. I've always been more interested in women's running than men's, perhaps because I'm a woman. And consistently during that time, letsrun has provided the best and most consistent coverage. I subscribed to Women's Running briefly, back when you could buy it as a paper magazine (I think) and was astonished by how poor it was. Letsrun would go away if someone else created a better product. If there were better women's running coverage than letsrun provides, I'm sure I would read that instead. But when I wanted to follow, say, the Boston Marathon women's race this weekend, letsrun was the first and best stop. I took up cycling a few years ago, and there is no equivalent in cycling to letsrun that provides more or less equal coverage to men's and women's sport. In fact, in the majority of sports, the primary website, whether it's ESPN or a smaller independent site, will provide vastly more coverage of men's sport. (There are exceptions - eg tennis.) Letsrun is actually quite unique and I appreciate them. I also appreciate their defense of women's sport for XY athletes. And Florsheim's article is absurd. I completely agree it's quite a ridiculous stretch to tie her possibly fictional FB criticism (which *is* awful, if it did happen) to Letsrun's April Fools joke.
