Out of morbid curiosity I read the Fast Women article. Wade spent more brain power in the comment section discussing whether Jared Ward’s instagram post was problematic than she did addressing PEDs in the article. I guess I kind of get it…if your readers’ brains are wired in a way that they’re looking to JARED WARD for examples of toxic masculinity then there isn’t much mental energy left for anything else. Still mind boggling though. Meanwhile Gianni DeMadonna has made how much money off Assefa? But as long as we are culturally sensitive and make an effort to spell/pronounce her name properly (and make sure everyone knows we are really “doing the work”) nothing bad will ever happen to a female athlete from a poor country…unless Jared Ward hurts their feelings
