Watch Rachel Maddow lie her ass off for two straight minutes
With MSNBC and CNN now worse than Fox News ever was, people need to start pretending that the left's barrage of coercive bullshit is triumphant anti-redneck wisdom
Almost every evening, millions of Americans willingly observe the sight of Rachel Maddow’s triangular, insectile head occupying the center of their television screen and engaging its facial anus for the purpose of spewing falsehoods about important aspects of American life. She does this knowingly and with such condescending, snarky arrogance that it’s impossible not to hate her.
Those already aware of Maddow’s status as an establishment hack and her attendant worthlessness as a journalist probably despise her most for her successful pushing of the series of outright lies collectively known as Russiagate. In April 2021, Matt Taibbi wrote about Maddow’s complete and unnoticed transformation into a shameless Fox News-style bullshit-merchant who hops neatly and smarmily from one nonsense-item to the next. In November, Taibbi went after Maddow again, this time in a paywalled story that included a mash-up of Maddow’s nonstop Russia fear-mongering.
Taibbi opined that “the most generous explanation for Rachel’s reporting of Russiagate has been incompetence, i.e. she and her network were duped by unscrupulous sources selling an irresistibly sexy, but flawed, ratings-magnet of a story.” But he doesn’t believe that “generous” idea anymore, to the extent he ever did. Maddow is as much a liar as anyone alive.
It’s impossible to read either story and conclude that Maddow is anything besides grotesquely unethical, as consciously misleading in her bloviating as Alex Jones or any other high-level public scourge ever was. But most people who watch cable news refuse to read sources like Taibbi’s TK News. Taibbi is a longtime liberal reporter who wound up on Substack because he was too honest to cut it anymore at Rolling Stone. And I’m afraid that Trump-hate remains at such blinding levels that a lot of Democrats would rather be lied to about everything so that their emotionally rooted conclusions remain intact than learn nasty truths and be forced to confront the idea that there are no good actors—zero—on cable television news programs in 2022.
Jones bothers people because he screams destructive bullshit at millions of people. At least that’s why he bothers me. Great! Now apply that same standard to everyone, and call for the deplatforming of anyone who lies as floridly as Jones. Maddow lies as floridly as Alex Jones ever did and faces zero threat of cancellation or even material stains on her career.
Maddow has of course been one of the most relentless advocates for the series of (depending on your age and health status), trivially effective, demonstrably ineffective, or simply unnecessary coronavirus vaccines and boosters.
In this two-minute, seventeen-second video from last December, Maddow, in what she admitted was “a personal plea from me,” lied her ass off to the entire world. Maddow does this habitually and has shed any conflicts of conscience this might have once introduced, so her stream of bullshit is as free of burbles and ripples as any con artist’s. Besides, she knows she is addressing the undiscerning and the already convinced.
“No judgment,” this endlessly judgy fuckbag trills in her exhortation to unvaccinated viewers to change their minds. And she just lies and lies and lies.
“We can’t afford to have you go to the hospital right now,” says this piece of shit whose objective wreck of a journalistic career has made her immune to financial concerns. She ignores the fact that fewer than one percent of people who contract any variant of covid even go to the hospital and that those who do, vaxxed or otherwise, are almost always riddled with obvious immunological risk factors for covid and other infectious diseases.
If you’re fat (no judgment), you’re at far higher risk than others, all else the same. But no news outlets are going to emphasize or even indicate that to a nation saturated with overweight people with televisions.
She also ignores that these variants have become both more benign and more transmissible—exactly what victims of media-tarring like Robert Malone have been saying since the outset of the “pandemic.”
The entire video is a bullshit-powered shaming session. “It’s the unvaccinated people it (omicron) is gonna make sick.” Wrong, and the very director of the Centers for Disease Control (and Prevention) had already admitted four months earlier that the coronavirus vaccines don’t stop transmissions. These mRNA-based gene therapies arguably are not even vaccines in a recognizable sense.
“Your country needs you,” Maddow exhorts, not hiding her own laughing as she says this. “Now is the time.” She tells viewers not to be discouraged if they have to make an appointment that entails a significant wait.
All of this is nothing but lies used as a cudgel. And the critical aspect is Maddow knows that almost every MSNBC viewer with any intent of being vaccinated any number of times had already done so by last Christmas. Maddow was just reminding you to remember that Americans leery of the vaccines and boosters exist and that your job is to identify hate them—rip them on Twitter, yammer about them on Nextdoor associated them with those sociopaths who are visibly removing their useless cloth masks before they are fully out the door of any business still requiring them.
Beyond being wrong, when did it become the function of cable news to try to persuade anyone into viewpoints, with or without frank emotional-manipulation tactics? How is it good for America, which needs you, to despise whole classes of people based on a combination of lies and mistaken information? At least hate people for their actual shortcomings, as I strive to, and wait for the imaginary ones to appear before adding those to the list of rhetorical targets.
If you can watch that video and not accept how completely and knowingly wrong Maddow is throughout the presentation, there is something wrong with either your brain or your programming. And the odds are overwhelmingly good that it’s your programming. I put a certain amount of trust in these same networks and figures for a good while, because I didn’t want to accept that news stations were universally adopting the same model Fox News mastered years ago. Critically, many liberals are willing to admit that CNN and MSNBC are “slanted,” but refuse to believe these outlets would fabricate stories and narratives outright. They do and they have, and they’re going to keep doing is as long as people believe and repeat what they say.
The fact that almost no liberal viewers recognize how dishonest Maddow and her ostensibly liberal cohorts-in-greed makes me furious. Because so many cable news viewers remain convinced that people like me are the misled ones, Maddow et al. can be held directly responsible for arguments and schisms between friends and family members that are based entirely on sham premises.
Maddow is an undiluted and destructive cunt who deserves to come to a shitty end, and if I could put it any more harshly than that while still adding information, I would. I can no longer hold meaningful conversations with people who are wed to the bullshit Maddow, Brian Stelter, Nicolle Wallace, and other highly paid agents of the state deliver to a blinkered public every day.
Soon, I’ll publish a post including a list of sources I follow in an effort to play nonstop defense in my fact-gathering sorties. I am no more organically immune to most of the crap everyone else watches than most others are, and I can be led toward an emotionally satisfying conclusion with the best of them if the facts are icky and the persuader is deft. But I have one thing going for me, and that’s an unwillingness to knowingly side with incorrect conclusions even if leaning into ugly facts costs me friends and standing. That’s not to say I’m always right, but I can promise anyone skeptical of my anti-news postings that I have done a lot more work than they have digging under the foundations of these stories, which is difficult thanks to Google’s systematic diminution of anti-government sources.
