I can’t make sense of what his advice should (or shouldn’t) be. Me thinks that’s what people today want tho. That way they’re never wrong and it’s not their fault.
I appreciate your perspective. I routinely get a chuckle reading your posts. But as such a gifted writer how do you defend these incredibly long run-on sentences?! Can I get a period once in awhile?! ;)
re: the 1:11 claim, that's likely converted from altitude PR 1:13. Westminster, CO is at 5500' and most races courses in that area are on rolling bike paths. Converting altitude races to sea level is sort of a gray area, I readily keep a list of both in my pocket as most of mine in younger days were at altitude. I also ran 1:13 at altitude (my debut no less and never got faster) but also ran 53 for 10 mile at sea level, where as at altitude never broke 55. That said, DR poached one of my runners who had a breakout race last year, and was kind of annoying as are some of the articles/posts he writes.
I deeply appreciate many of the words you stitch into your missives, but I must say that it's probably the first and last time I'll hear "dildotic" today, and it's only 6:25am. Kudos for that!

Well, his old 5K and 10K times are better than mine and I have run a few half marathons under 1:10, though none under 1:08.
