Pale Shelter is also a fantastic Tears For Fears track.

Thank you, though, for including the mention of the Lydian chord. A reader is definitely intrigued that you mentioned it. It’s quite new to me, but I’m delightedly looking into it to see if it’s what I’ve been looking for, for my own ends.

Everyone always leaves out the Pixies, but they influenced so many bands and musicians, you can't count them out of being one of the best 80s bands. I mean, I love Tears for Fears and appreciate the talent in the band. I might even pick them as my favorite 80s group, but there are a lot of great bands that formed in the 80s. Too bad Radiohead can't be included because of a technicallity. The band winds up more of a 90s sensation, probably where it should be, but there were some other great and innovative 80s bands: The cure, Annie Lennox, Prince (although technically he started just before the 80s), Tracy Chapman, Smashing Pumpkins (not my favorite but definitely talented), and so many others.

Regarding TFF, Sowing the Seeds grew on me but was never a favorite, even though it's a great song. It was the bands Sgt. Pepper's... even though it sounds more like I Am The Walrus. There's definitely some Beatles influence in there is what I mean.

Speaking of Mad World, I really enjoyed this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEpfvTdR5-U&ab_channel=ToryBurch
