Running is brutal if you're carrying as much weight as she is. My running slowed by about 3 minutes per mile during pregnancy. Admittedly there was more going on than weight gain, but I do think that weight was a huge factor.

I want running to be open and welcoming to all, and I would encourage and support any friend who wanted to run, no matter how slow and no matter what their weight. But I honestly think there are other sports that might be more likely to spark joy. I have friends who would struggle with running due to being larger who can annihilate me on the bike if it's relatively flat. Swimming is a beautiful thing when your body is larger, as I learned during pregnancy. And there is nothing wrong with walking.

I wonder if running really sparks any joy for Snell at this point, or if she continues solely because she is able to generate income from it as part of her social media persona. She is a lot smaller in some of those photos you posted than she is now.

So she’s basically claiming she completed more than four marathons each year in a four-year span plus fit in three ultras in that same timeframe. That’s a lot of racing for anyone. Most coaches would caution against running more than four marathons in a year for an average athlete, but I guess whoever was coaching her felt it was fine for her to run more than that and to include a few ultras.
