I'm not convinced that things are necessarily worse now. Maybe I listed to Swindled too often, but there have been plenty of corrupt media coverups and lying journalists in the past. The biggest difference is the Internet. Rogue journalists have more ways to expose coverups and have access to more information. But if you look at the Weinstein coverup (scary what money and power can do in Hollywood), Rathergate, the massacre in Vietnam, how the US media covered Iraq, Tuskegee, Tobacco, the Catholic Church etc. you see that coverups have been going on for a long, long time. Reporters are just quicker and have more avenues to expose shit now.

I think Josh Rushing was the first individual who made me aware of how skewed US reporting was at the time of the Iraq war compared to journalists around the world.

My dad was never content with the way things were going down in politics or in the media when he was around.

I don't know. Maybe things are messier now, but that could also be because the world is overcrowded.

I was just saying the other day how happy I am to have been born in 1961. Analog living was good, although I was joyfully clueless as a teenager, especially compared to teens now.

I like that you say "please", it adds that cherry on top of kindness and civilization to your eighth century punishment scheme.

Honestly I don't understand why these people get so turned against what a good honorable life can do for themselves and society. Things have been and still could be so much better. Is humanity doomed to gut itself once it achieves a certain level of excellence?

“Stuck in an information loop and not allowing outside information in”. Pot, meet kettle.
