I've been thinking about "Hayward magic" in the last few days. we've had three meets, Prefontaine, NCAAs, and Nationals, where it was at most half filled. Crowds for the Worlds are much better but I haven't seen anything that remotely looks like a sellout. Can we conclude then that in order to get a respectable number of tushies into the seats you need a meet of the stature of the World Championships? If so, we're looking at a big time Nike created white elephant.
