Jeff! Go CHS '88. I hope you're well. He was a character and the only time he ever looked annoyed was at the finish line of a race when someone passed him at the end. Great guy.

I used to see Tom running the Oak Hill trails in East Concord. Whenever we crossed paths, he always smiled and was friendly to both me and my dog. I called him "Coach" because by the time I'd remember his name, he was long gone.

It's a convenient word to wheeze -- one syllable, hard to mispronounce.

If every runner was like him, there would be three times more of us, But most would be hurt half the time because we'd all be racing each other on random training runs.
