Thinking back, this is how it went down for my wife and myself and my independent kids.

Dad (me) - Absolutely no interest. Basically forced to do it to keep my job, with continuous pressure to comply. Looking back I probably could have not done it and beat the odds.

Wife - Not a chance in hell she was getting it.

Son - Never got the shot. Thought it was all BS, but was told it was required to attend the D1 state school he attended. I kinda wish I took his approach. Just keep going taking classes and never reply to the emails or mail. All the threats passed over.

Daughter - Had Covid before any shots. Not anything important to her, but when they waved a $100 incentive she was on it like a German Shepherd on a rib roast.

Do we know the base rate of 23 year old runners having heart attacks? I know of several healthy young runners who had heart attacks years ago. Do we know the base rates after just regular COVID infection? Without knowing that we are in "George Floyd was killed because he was black" or "Hurricane Idelia was caused by global warming" or "it was zero degrees today - so much for global warming" or "i feel bad after covid, i must have uniquely vieulent long Covid" territory thinking vaccines bear mentioning with every heart issue from now on. I had my first extended Afib in 2005 at age 35. If that happened now you'd be like "see, the vaccines!", which, as an aside, gave me a few weeks of arrythmia, but so did Covid but worse.
