Toby Heytens is the latest judge to enforce the desires of misogynistic, science-denying child-abuse proponents
So much for teaching young women the importance of standing up for their values, which courts torpedo even when the public is overwhelmingly sympathetic. But the deeper problem is far more sinister
In a post on April 21 centering on the Biden administration’s dismantling of Title IX, I made the following observation:
Girls and collegiate women have nothing to lose at this point by simply refusing to compete when they know a boy or a man is in the female-only race, game, or match they’re slated to take part in.
A commenter chose to peacefully protest the “nothing to lose” part by unpacking the obvious possibilities (oomphasis mine):
I don't think this is true. I have three daughters. Let's say I find out that one of them is on a team with or has to compete against boys…
In our deep blue area, they'd likely be ostracized by teammates' parents or teammates. They might be named and shamed by the local paper. It could affect their ability to win scholarships or college admissions. They're very strong academically - speaking up about boys in sports gains them little but could hurt them in other areas. If they merely quit the sports team in question, probably no one would notice or care.
I agree with you 100% on this issue, but it's a big ask for middle and high school kids to stand up for themselves, and I think it's ridiculous that grown-ups - other than a few like yourself who speak up - are putting this on their plates.
For adults, the stakes can be high, too. At my office last week, I noticed they had a video screen cycling through short bios and photos of transgender "pioneers and heroes." The woke-speak is everywhere. If I were to lose my job over speaking up about this stuff, I'd likely find it hard to get another in my very small industry.
I responded at length four days later, granting that the commenter was correct and observing, “Girl athletes might as well just quit altogether if the people in charge refuse to treat their spaces as theirs.”
Unbeknownst to both me and my interlocutor ‘til Tuesday, a group of middle-school girls did in fact recently refuse to compete in a shot-put competition they knew included a boy.
It’s tempting to post hopeful slogans like “the tide is turning” whenever anyone tries to scuttle the progression of this boys-as-girls insanity in any way. But the public’s overwhelming rejection of “trans girls” competing as girls ignores the fact that the crazies have firm control of the levers of power—judgeships, school boards, athletic directors—and can thus thumb their noses at the public and its regressive ideas about human biology, fairness, and the sanctioning of child abuse no matter how much most people want these whack-jobs and their purposeful recklessness sidelined.
The reason the boy calling himself “Becky” was in this girls’ shot-put contest in the first place was the opinion of a judge named Toby Heytens, who two weeks ago overturned West Virginia’s ban on boys pretending to be girls for sports purposes.
Ask yourself if anyone intelligent enough to even become a judge would be likely to make these claims were he or she not under the lash of some kind of coercion—bribery, extortion, blackmail. This is Ministry of Truth-level underhandedness, no matter now forcefully the nutters are trying to normalize it.
This judge, after all, has to know that what he’s describing as “medical treatment” is nothing more than child medical abuse, a form rapidly progressing in the case of puberty-blocker-popping “Becky” toward the physically irreversible stage.
He also has to know that a “social transition” can be undone with a simple change of clothes and attitude. A “social transition” is cosplay supported by demented caregivers and other misguided mentors in a confused child’s life. Gay children of both sexes who in the past would have been simply allowed to grow up into becoming gay adults are now being shunted down the path of “transitioning” along with autistic kids and other special-needs children.
And Toby Heytens has to know that “transitioning,” apart from the permanent damage to kids who undergo it, does not and cannot transform anyone into a different sex. To believe that this possible as a result of, among other things, mentally ill surgeons grafting spare flesh onto a girl’s crotch and calling the result a penis is to believe in magic spells.
Wicked spells, at that. The whole movement is so plainly anti-human and literally psychotic that the only way to keep it rolling is to forcefully and continually gaslight everyone in sight while squash dissent from the few sources willing to vocalize it.
The protest Riley Gaines noted in her X post occurred a few days after Heytens’ decision. The girls who in the minds of at least some pundits had “nothing to lose” by standing up for themselves were banned from future competitions.
The West Virginia attorney general has filed an amicus brief and intends to see both the transgender ban reinstated and the girls’ behavior decriminalized. But at this point, here’s where we are in the good old United States:
A boy was allowed to pose as a girl and enter a girls’-only shot-put competition. When the girls sanely objected to a boy being in their event, the girls—all of around thirteen or fourteen years old—were punished by elements of the government.
This is the idea of democracy enforced by the same Biden administration that demands you re-elect the shambolic, malign, and post-demented remains of Joe Biden, Jr. to protect democracy.
As I’ve suggested or flat-out stated, I plan to withhold my vote in November. The candidates suck, and the process is already being bitch-rigged just like it was the last time (why do you think disputing the 2020 U.S. Election was one of the biggest consistent no-nos on social media as soon as Biden took office?). And this is part of a greater resolve to withhold my consumption of commodities, processes, and norms the government and its operators want us to not merely consume but overconsume: corporate media propaganda, carcinogenic jabs and other needless, dangerous drugs, hiding our faces, hiding our opinions, eating more than we need despite having less money, anti-family messages, sham science across fields, racist “anti-racists,” male women, globular and virtually immobile “marathoners,” jet-setting climate barons, and memberships with payment processors and big banks known for embarking on significant cancellation sprees. For starters.
While Republicans in congress are essentially as useless as the Democrats, only the Dems support the slate of anti-human insanities collectively dubbed Wokism. While any Republican or third-party president would also serve as puppet of Zionist interests and make no serious dent in the Deep State’s machinations (and such a candidate might even be planning to tab a dog-murdering sociopath as a running mate), he or she would at least put a stop to this bullshit. Maybe.
In another recent post, this one including mention of the U.S. House of Representatives voting overwhelmingly to devote $95 billion to pointless foreign wars, I suggested that if nothing else, left-wingers, right-wingers, and everyone in between should at least cast aside their infighting for long enough to acknowledge that the only battle of consequence underway at the moment is the government and the super-privileged against everyone else.
The anti-war protests underway on college campuses are getting plenty of attention from both corporate and accurate sources. But ignore, for now, the predictable lies by CNN, Fox News, et al. and the incursions of these protests by insincere actors representing various factions. The critical thing to bear in mind is that these protests are fully legal and being suppressed and punished anyway. And ultimately, this un-American bullshit is coming from the political right wing—and foreigners like Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli Zionists—including foreigners presently scuttling around the country like Department of State-registered roaches—who really, really need to learn to shut the fuck up about what American citizens supposedly can and cannot say. Netanyahu’s opinion is as important to me as the president of North Korea’s is, and any American who supports him, while welcome to do so, is debased or maybe just a big gaping pussy.
And since I brought it up, Anti-Defamation League shakedown-king Jonathan Greenblatt also needs to get the same message through his warped and pulsating eggshell of a head, as quite a few Americans will never submit to his and his pals’ absurd demands no matter how much they threaten people or unfurl the most contrived and laughable whining about the specter of the Holocaust, as if any of these soulless grifters actually cares about anyone but themselves and their power-trip.
This bullshit is just as worn-out as the gender hijinks are. People can see it. The jig is up with telling people rightfully pissed off about the events in Gaza and elsewhere, and the misallocation of American resources, that we’re all antisemites. And even if we were, Greenblatt and his mates would both love it (because Zionism is by far the biggest engine of antisemitism on Earth, and the perception of antisemitism drives donations Greenblatt’s way) and have to live with it either way (it’s not illegal to hate groups people on principle, although this seems universally a route to a less-fulfilling life).
So here is the status of freedom of expression—the most important stand-alone right the U.S. Government hasn’t fully taken from its citizens—in the nation today.
If a cadre of schoolgirls protests a radical left-wing failure, the state takes action against them.
And if thousands of college students and others take part in opposing a genocide led by right-wing actors with an unhidden distaste for the First Amendment, the state takes action against them, too.
Some democracy!
This is all going in the same terrible un-American direction for every American citizen. Some of the ones who are active online and have escaped being censored or otherwise punished to this point may think this is owed to a combination of their own adroitness at recognizing and following proper rules and being on the right side of the fights they’ve waded into. This includes far-gone shitlibs and Trump Derangement Syndrome victims who have siloed themselves cleanly away on Threads and in Boomer-heavy Facebook groups, and are still smugly droning away to one another about “antivaxxers” while insisting that Vladimir Putin will march all the way to Paris unless the endless spigot from Washington remains open.
The problem most people appear to have with recognizing this, especially most longtime Democrats I know, is a basic unwillingness to forgo longstanding but clearly unhelpful partisan allegiances just because the alternatives are hideous. This in turn is linked to a refusal on the part of too many naive or self-deluded citizens to admit that both parties and the human-ish levers controlling the, hold everyday Americans and other commoners worldwide in unbridled and increasingly transparent contempt.
And criminalizing speech, the last bastion between a people and complete unmitigated subjugation from above, is both clearly already here and gaining momentum from within. If there is any humor in this whatsoever, it’s becoming harder and harder to find or create.
